The Wollondilly and Wingecarribee Child, Youth and Fmaily Interagency (previously, Highlands Child and Youth Interagency) has evolved from the bringing together of the existing established interagency forums of Highlands Child and the Wingecarribee Youth Interagency.

Members of both existing forums identified a duplication of process, shared objectives and the need to work collaboratively to address the local issues of Wingecarribee, In recognising the above circumstances, the combined members established a working group and a discussion forum to consider the possibility of combining to form a functional Interagency that met both original Forums objectives, hence the establishment of the Wollondilly and Wingecarribee Youth Interagency.
